This study will look briefly at the 139 Biblical passages using terms specific for immigrants, foreigners, or refugees. It will categorize them by topic and deal with overarching themes pertinent to immigrants and their treatment by the larger society. Recognition is given to the role of immigrants in the life of Israel, as well as those serving as missionaries in New Testament times.
Biblical themes of empathy and compassion for immigrants are noted along with Israels failure to live up to the Bibles ideals. This study is brief in nature, yet deals with most of the larger themes pertinent to the topic.
